Review on πŸ”© Optimal Drywall Anchors for Superior Drilling Experience by Adam Browning

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Hmm, yes, that's FIFTY anchors. But excellent anchors.

Great anchors! I have installed hundreds of different styles of wall anchors over the years and this style is my favorite. Self drilling aspect for noobs. It's always better to drill a pilot hole to allow the threads to do their job better and give a cleaner finish. (although you will still need to sweep and vacuum the baseboard or floor). As with any screw, choose a drill slightly thinner than the width of the anchor core. Drill a pilot hole exactly where you need the anchor. Then screw in the dowel with a Phillips screwdriver. If you must use a power screwdriver (cordless drill), set it to low speed/torque and take your time. Tighten the anchor to the point where it is just beginning to make a small indentation in the surface of the drywall. Tip: If you think you're going to hit a stud, or want to find the best spot away from it, start with a very thin drill bit for a smaller pilot hole - that way, if you hit the edge of the stud, you'll have better ones Chances of hitting the anchor. Why I gave three stars: The item is called "100 pieces all together". Why don't you just say it's 50 anchors? A dowel and screw are required to make a complete fastener. If you need 100 attachment points, you need to buy two packs of them. The claim of "only 100 pieces" is not a lie, but it is unconvincing and really only serves the seller.

Pros
  • Starts easier than other drywall anchors, screws right into drywall even if you hit a wooden stud
Cons
  • No instructions
