Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Efficient Makita A-98348 50 Piece Impactx Driver Bit Set: Enhance Your Drilling Experience by Kevin Griffin

Bit holders can be fixed! It's not as bad as you think.

Unlike most kits you will find, there is a wide range to choose from. He has many Phillips, Robertsons and all the usual Torx sizes. It has a flat head because I suppose you must have one, although I haven't seen one since 1992. It's a bit useless. The way the lines are flipped is nice. It's smart to keep long pieces in a loop, but making them detachable is pointless and I wish they didn't have to constantly print instructions (in 3 languages!) on top. The bits stay in place, but you have to knead them very hard (e.g. your fingers will hurt and + or * will be printed on them for several minutes) - reversed rows should have solved this problem easier, but somehow it didn't. There's a Makita logo on the back that sticks out in the middle so it doesn't lay flat on the table, which is just weird. (Why, Makita? Not that we don't know what brand the big turquoise case is.) Then there's a ring at the bottom that sticks out uncomfortably if you want to tie it to something (it's too small for even a small carabiner ) , but I can't see why you need it. There seem to be two types of wrenches in the world. The deep ones are suitable for all nuts, while the extra shallow ones are only suitable for thin nuts. This is a small view. I didn't even know it existed before because I had never seen it. Why is that? Useless. Bit holders (silver sockets) are not only useless, but also dangerous. The other comments here warn against putting a long snippet in them, so I tried putting a short snippet in one. I then spent 5 minutes with pliers to pull it back out. They can't be that tight, can they? Terrible. UPDATE: Grab a knife and needle nose pliers. There is a small retaining ring at the top of each bit holder. Fish it out and throw it away. This is what keeps the bits in place forever. I have no idea what they were thinking. All bits are magnetic, so they hold perfectly even without them. It has nothing to do with long/short bits. With this simple modification, the bit holders work great with any bit. The worst is the packaging. This is the most durable bed you've ever seen. I lost 3 fingers opening it. As soon as you take it out, you realize that several individual parts are packed in even more plastic. It's clear that this set was designed to look really cool on the store shelf so that a person wouldn't be able to open it, or to be eco-friendly. Overall the beats are ok. It's decent but not great. Bit holders are bad, but they can be fixed. Nut drivers are useless but I don't mind replacing 3 pieces in a 50 piece set. This set is disappointing as it is a 2 star set as delivered but with a few simple tweaks it could have been a 5 star set. UPDATE: A year later. How is it holding up? Not bad. One part of the T20 stopped spinning so I switched it to another and it worked. (Has anyone heard of a torx bit coming loose?) But I'm writing this out of bad luck as that was the only one. The bit distribution is also not perfect. Too many extra Phillips and slotted bits, not enough Torx and Robertson. Eventually the space for the long pieces and extensions (which I previously called "useless" and "pointless" and never used) broke and spilled onto the floor. Overall it worked pretty well and had everything I needed. For the price it couldn't be better.
