It's alright, for the price

I have had my mask for a year. I purchased it mainly as a novelty, as I only swim at the local community pool. It is okay for the price, but there are some definite drawbacks. The first major problem is that the seal over the bridge of my nose is never complete, which means that when I breath out, instead of all the CO2 going out the valves, two streams of air escape from the mouth part of the mask near the corners of my eyes. After 15 or 20 minutes of swimming, this constant jet of air right into my eye makes a longer swimming session seem unappealing, not to mention that re-breathing this CO2-rich air is not a good thing to be doing for long periods of time. I have tried tightening it, but the flat facemask ultimately presses against my forehead, causing some pain after a while, and still fails to create a complete seal. The elastic adjustment bands are very rudimentary, and tightening them can be a bit of a chore compared to a standard pair of goggles. If you do exert yourself, then standing up to catch your breath is a bad idea, as this makes the snorkel sit at a non-vertical orientation, which, in turn, allows the ball in the ball valve to be easily sucked into the "closed" position with a fast, deep breath. and if you are breathing heavily, you don't want your air supply to suddenly be closed off.The large amount of air this mask holds makes it buoyant, and if you want to turn upside down in the water (facing up) the mask may have a minor leak. I've noticed this will sometimes happen when diving straight down. Purging the mask is difficult, and if the interior nose-bridge portion gets wet, the above mentioned escaping air will blow small droplets of pool water into my eyes and on the facemask. The mask is also more difficult to clean than a standard pair of goggles, and should be done after every use. That being said, the experience of being able to keep your face under water and not have to have a tube stuck in your mouth is very nice. This particular mask just isn't well suited to me. I will likely be buying a different one in the future.
