Doubtful for bike racks

I was very nervous riding this on my fully loaded Mazda 3 with four bikes. I was afraid to over tighten the straps for fear they would snap. When driving, I was afraid that the trunk would tip over to the side due to the weight of the bikes. If you have a Schwinn you'll need to buy straight handlebars in addition to the rack or you'll have a hell of a time trying to secure your bike (I have a beach cruiser). I put my bike, an older child's bike and 2 off-road bikes. It would probably be safer with an SUV.
