Review on πŸ”§ Enhance your Tool Efficiency with the POWERTEC UT1002 Universal Tool Stand by Michael Jenkins

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Fairly good price but not suitable for my intended application

To get straight to the point this seems like a good product hence the 4 star rating. I don't like a few aspects, the main one being how wide it is at the bottom. I bought it in combination with the HTC2000 mobile base to use as a mobile jointer stand (I have a very small shop that doesn't have it that allows you to permanently mount all the tools) because it looked very flexible and the total for both items was $35 less than purchasing a DeWalt DW7350 Planer Stand (which I have for my planer and are therefore very familiar with). But now that I have everything together I can see that I will not like it for this app. "x 25" for DeWalt). That extra foot might not sound like much, but in a small shop like mine, it adds up. Also, because of the pyramid shape of the UT1002, I keep banging my toes on the HTC2000's outer frame when bending down to retrieve the jointer. The stand is well put together and seems solid enough (due in no small part to the pyramid shape, I should say) so I'll keep it and see where else I can use it, but I'm disappointed that it won't work for my intended application.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • unreliable
