Very soft and rough finish
They look nice from a distance and have a nice case, but they are very soft. I had a crease removing the clip from the fork tube and others had large burrs on the ends that I had to file off. It wasn't difficult to sew them up. I assume they are cast iron or even light cast iron. Also the ends are too big for most regular clips.
