It's hard to find a 5/8 inch lug size; Be Careful

If you are reading this review you might not be able to find a union nut of this size with a 5/8 inch bore/bolt size at your local hardware store or large retail store either. The good news is that they work! The challenge, as with any of these compression nuts, is to be patient and a little careful when belaying. We had to change a couple of flat tires on a hand truck/cart. I bought inexpensive, worry-free wheels from Harbor Freight. One of the original compression nuts broke when my husband was trying to remove a flat tire so I started looking for a replacement before removing the second wheel. I visited three local hardware stores and called several others. Despite selling the wheels, Harbor Freight did not have the appropriate jack nuts. I didn't want to spend more money on a "wheel set" from major retailers that included tubed spare wheels. Luckily I found this item at Revain and once I was sure it would fit the bolt/axle I was able to complete the replacement project. To secure the compression nut, I used a universal socket (deep) to distribute the force of a 1 pound rubber mallet more evenly and didn't hit the socket too hard - at least not on the second try. Yes, after cracking the first one, I realized they needed more patience, gentle tapping, and not "a few good hits". Rschunimagu. I was able to remove the second wheel's original oozing compression nut and reuse it. After a month of use, the bike is still safe. If I ever need to replace both wheels again (which I hope I won't need for a while) I will most likely buy a set of more than two so I have a few more spares in case I need them. From what I've read and seen, these compression nuts break quite often, regardless of manufacturer, so I have no complaints about the quality of these compression nuts.
