Simple Wheel Nut

Replacing the wheels on outdoor equipment like pressure washers is easy, but you need these simple compression nuts to lock them in place. First I tried to drill a hole in the axle and use a cotter pin but the drill bit broke. This was a much better and simpler answer.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • So far so good

A 5/8 compression nut holds the carriage in place.

I used a socket and a hammer to get it in place. Generally it does what it's supposed to do. I was afraid they might break because they seem quite thin, but that didn't happen. They're hard to find and I feel a bit overpriced, but they work and keep the bike in place.

Pros
  • Durable test results
Cons
  • Don't really like it, everything is fine

The perfect replacement for that hard to find part!

Perfect replacement for the socket nuts on my Milwaukee hand truck with 5/8" axle. The originals broke when I had to remove them. Replaced Original Equipment pneumatic tires with solid, puncture-proof tires from Harbor Freight. My advice is to use a socket to drive it directly onto the axle. It was just what I needed and my hand truck is operational again.

Worked on my Harbor Freight Dolly

I pumped up the tires on my Harbor Freight hand truck. I bought replacement tires/hubs, removed the old pushrods and tires and installed them. They worked like a charm. They came through fine. I used a socket (from a set of socket wrenches) and lightly tapped the shaft with a hammer. I changed these tires just before we moved into our new house so I put in a lot of hours on this car and the push rods have held up well.

Pros
  • handy item
Cons
  • skimpy manual

Good product, fits fasteners

We went to 7 or 8 stores to find a union nut of this size. Then we realized that it wasn't easy to find it even on the internet. This company had multiple sizes to choose from and the size we needed. It took us two to change the wheels on the wagon. I suggest using a flathead screwdriver and a hammer to install. Touch them lightly. If I needed more than the two I bought I would buy from this company again. I appreciated that they carried so many sizes.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Some little things

Easy installation. Hard to find locally. Works perfectly.

Purchased to replace a missing push nut on an old harbor freight hand truck. None of the local hardware stores or big stores had any idea what I was looking for. It was easy to install. I laid the wagon on its side, supported the axle from underneath with a 2x4, put this compression nut on top of the axle and used a deep socket and rubber mallet to hammer it in place. Total installation time was less than 2 minutes. including 2 trips to the tool box to find the right head size. So far, so good.

It's hard to find a 5/8 inch lug size; Be Careful

If you are reading this review you might not be able to find a union nut of this size with a 5/8 inch bore/bolt size at your local hardware store or large retail store either. The good news is that they work! The challenge, as with any of these compression nuts, is to be patient and a little careful when belaying. We had to change a couple of flat tires on a hand truck/cart. I bought inexpensive, worry-free wheels from Harbor Freight. One of the original compression nuts broke when my husbandโ€ฆ
