It does the job for my opinion

I bought two of these for sail shades in my garden. Overall, they feel very sturdy and the materials seem solid. You need to be careful about really anchoring the bolts well - some moderate to high winds led to some of the bolts being pulled out, and I had to dismantle the post and re-anchor it. It would be good to know how far the bolts can be torqued, as it’s just guess work otherwise! One negative is that after assembly, one of the post sections was pulled by the wind and "pinged” itself into

Pros
  • 42.7 pounds
Cons
  • The 112' steel post is too long and could be hazardous for children or pets to run into or play near

After reading several posts.

I purchased the posts but haven't installed them yet.But after reading posts stating that they snapped/bent, I went ahead and purchased 3.0" Stainless Steel Butt Joint Exhaust Seal Band Clamps for the threaded seams they fit perfect over the post and base.will update when I complete the project.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077TBQNN1/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1(UPDATE) 6/20/22I finally got around on installing my Sun Sail and Posts, for starters, the Sun Sail held up…

Pros
  • Very durable and strong. Exactly what I needed for my sail shade!!
Cons
  • It was an easy set up, but when we attached the sail to it, the pole bent and is now unusable.

I bought three poles. They seemed heavy and sturdy. I set them deep in concrete and as directed. The threads failed on one of them and it separated with tension, ultimately crashing down, thankfully when nobody was around. Another is now loose at the joint and I am taking them all down as I am afraid that it is either a defective design or manufacture. If you bought this product, have a close look to make certain that it is secure. I lost lots of labor, time and money because of this product as

Pros
  • Goes together easily, and works as advertised.
Cons
  • Threads are cut wrong and the post jump out of one another.A broom stick would make a stronger post

Bent Threads on my review.

I finally decided to work on a long overdue project, only to find out that the threads on one of the pipes is dented and will not attach to the other pole. The pipes also came in a little rusted. Very disappointed!

Pros
  • 44.1 x 10 x 4.1 inches
Cons
  • The kit may not be compatible with all types of outdoor flooring or decking materials

Support for a sun shade sail

I purchased this to support a sun shade sail which needs quite a bit of tension. I had plans to attach it to my deck but everyone suggests bolting to concrete. Well, who needs ya! I bolted (purchased separately) the base flange through my deck and another layer wood attached perpendicular under the deck with the pole than rising out of a bench for a secondary location of support. Works a treat. I was rather surprised by the robustness of the pole, its 3" galvanized, with some good heft…

Pros
  • Shade Sail Hardware
Cons
  • The post may not be adjustable, making it difficult to position the sun shade sail at different angles or heights

Defective product. for my opinion

The pole bent at the lower joint almost immediately after attaching the shade sail and would not retighten. Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • Features powder coated steel construction to resist corrosion and impact. Rust proof, waterproof, easy for maintenance.
Cons
  • The steel material could rust over time, which can compromise its durability and strength

Very impressive! for my opinion

The pipe sections are very heavy duty with burr-free threads on all connectors. The base plate is large, thick, and has high quality welds. Anchor bolts are 1/2 inch x 4 inch long.

Pros
  • Patio Furniture & Accessories
Cons
  • The product takes up a lot of space and may not be ideal for smaller outdoor areas

Cannot support shade sail tention.

Posts come in three sections. Sections did not align correctly and when tension was put on the post they caved. Had to find a local person to weld the posts together.

Pros
  • TANG
Cons
  • The 3' diameter of the post may not be wide enough to support larger sun shade sails or other outdoor structures

Looks good but cannot use because of missing parts!

Missing the connector in the package. Cannot install without ALL the parts. Poor quality control by Best Buy. Clearly this was a customer return and just shipped out again without inspection. This had been re-packed as there were several layers of tape on the box, even a prior shipping label from Best Buy to another customer!

Pros
  • One pre-drilled hole on the top section of the pole for securing the D-ring clamp, free to fix the D-ring clamp on other height of the pole by drilling the hole where you want to fix it. Easy to handle- refer to the installation manual for details.
Cons
  • The post kit may require professional installation, which can add extra costs and inconvenience for customers

Had Hope, Fails With Tension

I have several sun sails over a patio attached to the house and a pavilion. I decided to add 2 more so I needed a new anchor point so purchased this item despite not exactly great reviews. Lesson learned. Put some holes in my slab, got it bolted down, and attached one sail to it. Hand tightened the hardware and immediately noticed a bend in the pole. Turned the turnbuckle a couple of times to give it the least bit of tension I thought could possibly keep the sail from becoming a sail, and the…

Pros
  • Additional 24’’ and 47’’ extensions are available if you need more height. Sold separately.
Cons
  • The steel post may obstruct views or interfere with outdoor activities, such as playing ball games or hosting social gatherings

One is good, the other is bent

One pole is great of the two I ordered. The other one bends at the connection point, even after tightening with a pipe wrench and balancing the weight with a cable to the ground.

Pros
  • Umbrellas & Shade
Cons
  • The base plate and bracket clamp may not be strong enough to hold up against harsh weather conditions, such as high winds or heavy rain
