No noticeable increase in performance

I have used K&N filters in many cars and rarely if ever noticed an increase in performance but I don't want to send a different thing to the junkyard every 20-30k miles.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Do not use on vehicles with turbochargers!

A reputable mechanic told me not to use an oily air filter on a turbocharged car. I had to use DNA Motoring AFPN-216-RD on my 2020 Ford Ranger.

Pros
  • Special Offer
Cons
  • Long Wait

Direct lifetime replacement

Exact, perfect replacement for OEM air filters. I've owned many K&Ns over the years and have never had to buy a replacement air filter again. This justifies their acquisition costs.

Pros
  • Nice thing
Cons
  • Some imperfections

Filters didn't help at best

I have a 2.3L turbo and thought it would be good to add more air but it hasn't robbed it of power. I think the filter is ok, it looked good, it was clean, but it just didn't work on my car.

Pros
  • There's something to that
Cons
  • I'll write back later

Implementation, no difference in mileage, autostop Modified

Others here have asked for less mpg and I didn't find that to be the case. My MPG is exactly the same. It feels like it's sucking in more air than a regular filter just based on wrap time. This is the only thing I changed on the truck and for some reason the auto stop function stopped working most of the time. I have no idea if this is related to the airflow sensor detecting more incoming air and therefore not automatically stopping, or if it is unrelated. However, I don't use Autostop when I'm

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Protection

Disappointed when it installed on my 2020 Ranger

I usually buy these for all my cars so I settled on a 2020 Ford Ranger and immediately noticed, more than any other car I've owned, that the low power was so low it bothered me. The top end went pretty well, but that's where you really step on the gas and I don't drive a truck, so it's not that useful. So the low end loss was enough to bother me enough to just use the default filter, which is a very good filter, so I'll just replace it as needed. K&N didn't increase or decrease gas mileage, itโ€ฆ

Pros
  • . Everything is great!
Cons
  • Expensive
