Bought as a spare

Removed the VRO on my Evinrude 70hp. and switched to this type of injection pump. While I don't expect any problems with my new fuel pump, I'd like to replace it quickly on board for emergencies when we're up north during high tides and spares aren't available when needed. It was a good purchase and serves me well in the parts store on my boat.

Pros
  • That's wonderful
Cons
  • I don't remember

This pump has metric threads, just replace the back of

. This product is as described and works very well. This is a metric thread. Nice and well made and costs a third of the original manufacturer part, it will fit many products, check your numbers to be sure

Make sure you tighten it all the way!

Bought this pump for my 1972 Johnson 65hp. Perfect fit, easy to install. It didn't have the rubber carriage spacer that the original OMC pump had, so I was a little apprehensive at first. After initial installation, the pump leaked gas when I first filled it up, so I removed the cap, wiped dry and screwed it on VERY TIGHT. This seems to have fixed the issue and the pump is now working great.

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Bought as a spare last year. I finally got my VRO off my 70hp Evinrude. I hooked everything up and as soon as I filled the lamp and the fuel went to the pump, a hairline crack appeared in it. It has been in a box in my study since I bought it. It's too late to return it and I'm not sure if there's gas in it if they let me ship anyway. I bought it because of the many positive reviews. I guess I just got a bad one.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Not bad

Good pump but keep the nipples from your original pump.

I only give it 4 stars because the brass exhaust was not the same size as my original OEM part. The small 1990-2000 HP Evinrude uses a 5/32 diameter hose between the pump and the carburetor/primer assembly. This is significantly smaller than the 3/16 impulse hose nipple. However, the threads are identical, so you can simply replace the nipple from the old pump. The pump works fine. There are several leak reports, but I have no problems. I quickly tightened the bolts as they often loosen 1/8th…

Great VRO conversion!

Used to convert an old 70hp VRO pump to a standard pump. I cut the original VRO mount in half. As you can see in the photo, the connector in the center of the rear of the new pump fits into a groove with two mounting holes. The rear engine vacuum port is slightly smaller than the side of the block. So the problem is in the hose. I fixed this compartment by taking a heat gun, heating a piece of 3/8 OD plastic RV plumbing supply line and pushing it right onto the nipple. It is perfect for using…
