Great for Lasko fans

Wanted to clean my Lasko fan but Lasko has some spanner screws to deter owners from opening the fan. These worked perfectly. Using these spanner bits, I was able to open my fan and clean it out. Much needed.

Pros
  • Product was very useful to remove some security screws. Don't know if I will ever use it again.
Cons
  • The U-shaped magnetic design makes it difficult to securely hold screws while driving them in, often resulting in dropped or misplaced screws

Security U-Shank Screwdriver bits

Needed special screwdriver heads to access - open up + Portable AC - These enabled me to get at & replace the worn out capaciator.

  • The alloy steel material may not be durable enough for heavy use, causing the bits to wear down quickly and needing frequent replacements

Strong, do the job for my opinion

These are simply bits for very special security screws/bolts. I needed one to take the bottom plate off the base of my Margaritaville Blender. Not sure why they didn't use simple Philips head screws, but they didn't. I put the bit into my power screwdriver and it worked easily. The magnetic feature was useful because the screws were small. I only needed one size for one job and may never use these again. But, it was the only way to fix my appliance, so the price of the set was much much less…

These will work on locking refrigerant caps!

I bought these as an alternate to the JB locking refrigerant cap bits to see if they would fit and they do. The JB bits are about $5 each, and are very brittle, so they break off easily. These may be brittle too, but at least they're not $5 each.

  • These are unique screws and these work great for what I needed.
Cons
  • The bits' 50mm/2inch length also limits their use, making them unsuitable for projects that require longer or deeper drilling
