Poor fit is good for filter

Very poor fit This is my first purchase for k&n and I am very disappointed the main pipe for the throttle body hits the fan and rubs all the time it doesn't stay on and she said , it would match my cars but it's hard to believe.

Pros

Cons
  • No performance

Junk, poor installation causes damage

This unit didn't fit properly on my 2003 Chevy frontrunner, it got into my fan causing my fan to burn out because my fan is electric on these 2003s - x where kicks like this bottom motor attached to one cost me about $500 in damage

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Speed

Direct Fit. Big win for the price

Installation was easy for anyone with a working knowledge of screwdrivers and wrenches. Very easy to follow instructions with photos of each step. It took about an hour and a half, just don't rush. The only issue I had during installation was how close the intake manifold was to the fan blades. I did some research and found that this kit is built that way and that the brackets that come with it are more than enough to keep the pipe from hitting the fan. The MPG hasn't changed much in the city…

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive

Great sound - replacement parts

Received this FIPK Gen 2 yesterday and immediately installed it in my 2004 5.3L EXT. The fixture was a bit tight at about 1/8 inch from the radiator fan to the pipe, but as long as you tighten everything it won't hit. The only thing I can recommend K&N is to make the hole on the body a bit smaller or add some foam, the gap is actually quite big, that's the only thing that makes me take the sprocket off. Also the picture that Revain used shows filters on the wrong side of the case. Actually it's
