I installed two of these yesterday. They are compact and the included cable is long enough for most applications. I placed one on the back of my desktop PC for the keyboard, mouse and Freeagent dock (which has two USB ports for some reason). The other port is on a small stand at the other end of my computer desk (via a 5ft USB extension cable) where two USB sticks, the NAS drive, my network switch and "modem" live. Two USB drives and the next scanner are connected to this port. So I have enough
