Not happy with this phone.

This phone model has been in my office practice for a long time and we know how this phone is supposed to work and how not. I am currently interacting with tech support to find out what is wrong with the phone. It may need to be replaced or replaced with another model.

Do not buy this item.

While the earlier models in the range (944 and 955) are reliable machines, this thing is a constant source of trouble. You're better off pairing an AT&T 955 with a $20-$40 digital answering machine. I've been doing this for many years. I then chose 964, a decision I regret. :-)

It's not worth it. suitable for landline

Bought this as a standalone phone for my home office. While this phone appeared to be feature-packed, there were a few things that were distracting. 1) If you are on the same line, the answering machine will not answer when another call comes in. 2) Auto-answer cannot be turned on or off selectively for individual lines. 3) Poor sound quality when recording and VERY low volume when receiving messages remotely. 4) My device had a bad power supply (LOUD hum) and AT&T wouldn't replace it withoutโ€ฆ

AT&T should be ashamed 964

Telephones are an integral part of most businesses, especially service businesses. This system is grossly misrepresented in their marketing. AT&T has spouted nasty nonsense for the leading phone company. People can't leave you messages while you're on the phone. Others cannot hear your messages because the sound quality is either too low or too muffled. Many functions do not work as advertised. We need 4 phones. We returned them and bought the Voice Logic Voice Pro 412 system. This littleโ€ฆ

Definitely expensive junk!

I repeat all the other comments: I had the same problems with this phone, which I stupidly bought when it first came to a stationer's advice. (Ughhhh!) Sometimes the connection seems clear; In other cases, even a local call can sound like another person is calling from the moon. The answering machine is just terrible. You can hardly hear messages when dialing long-distance, and even if you stand in front of the device, the speech is so compressed that it is often distorted beyond recognitionโ€ฆ

Didn't keep promises

I bought this phone with high expectations based on the features of the product especially the auto attendant. We bought 2 944 phones and 2 964 phones each for a small office (2 people). The 944 phones worked together, but the 964 phones did not. The manual was the worst I've read about the phone system and gave no details. After countless hours of phone support (email support was a joke, they copied sections from the manual and sent it to me even though I had detailed them every step of theโ€ฆ

This phone sucks. Mine just died after 2 years

I think this phone was designed by people who either have never used a phone or hate those who use one. The circuit board inside the phone began to fail almost immediately near the headphone jack. There is a delay between the moment you pick up the phone and the moment the first tone is produced. This doesn't work well with other phones: when I get a call and tell someone else in the other room to pick up the phone, the ATT phone seems to make some kind of tone (probably used by other AT&T forโ€ฆ

Typical cheap Asian electronics

In other words, many declared functions, many of which are not needed, contradict each other and are poorly documented. We also found that this unit (despite not being a 944 slave unit) was prone to (static) radio interference, so we had to move it to another room. How much is your time worth? Expect at least 5 hours to get this turkey up to the minimum working level and never get it to work fully. Since RFI are generated by an autoresponder, you should consider purchasing a separateโ€ฆ

Disappointment and disappointment

There is nothing intuitive or simple about this product. The hardware and software for this product is poorly designed. The only reason to buy this product is if you want a product that only you can use; This can give you job security, but your job will be to handle phone calls. Most importantly, our customers didn't like the leave a message process. The most basic operations, like receiving and retrieving messages, are complex to set up and execute. I couldn't figure out how to set up theโ€ฆ
