Keys cannot be duplicated

Why don't I give a padlock that works great 5 stars? Because I can't find a local shop in our area that can duplicate keys. We bought this for general office use but need more keys for coworkers. Vain. There are no spaces for this key style in any of the local repositories. As a result, we cannot use this lock at all.

  • Perfect for outdoor activities

Fits easily with padlocks and latches

This padlock is affordable and easy to hold. However, I bought this lock to start lockpicking. Without reading the included selection guide or watching a video on how to do it. I was able to pick this lock in minutes with a single pen. After some practice I was able to open it in 15-20 seconds. I wouldn't protect anything of value with this lock. Maybe I would use it as a sports lock.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Zero

An easy choice, not very strong but slightly better than Master 140

Small brass padlocks are not the best choice unless you need to lock a very small item. They are usually easy to pick, hack, bypass etc. This lock is a bit more difficult than the Master 140 but is still considered a beginner (or near beginner) lock in Lockport. More safety pins and generally slightly better tolerances than 140, but still not a very good closure.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Operating Speed

HIGH QUALITY - Padlocks and Deadbolts

This is a very well made padlock that has exceeded all my expectations. In my opinion the Abus 55/40 is much better quality than similar sized padlocks sold in big stores. Anyway, the shackle diameter is just under 1/4", which is exactly what I needed. The Abus 55/40's shackle diameter is exactly 15/64" (5.95mm) and the spacing is 7/8" " (22.23mm). Trust me this is a really good padlock considering its size and price.

Pros
  • GOLS Certified
Cons
  • Expandable

Great for lock sport. Bad for security

Like many similar models from other manufacturers (Master Lock 140), this brass padlock can be opened with a gasket or even faster with a comb. I wouldn't want to use it to protect anything valuable. However, this is a great lock to learn how to open. It's fairly inexpensive, has wide tolerances, and three safety pins for practice. Once you've got the hang of it, try the 5-pin Abus 72/40.

Pros
  • Great value
Cons
  • Slightly dented

Easy to open, solid construction but that's it!

Very strong lock with serrated pins. However, I was able to open my own lock with a wave rake in just a few seconds. As a result, it naturally took me longer to unlock a pin. Also, there is another review here stating that this lock is vulnerable to being raked. The truth is that almost *all* locks can be picked with low to medium skill. As a rule, you have to pay a little more for a better lock that requires more time and skill to open. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this lock as a first line…

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Don't remind me

I bought this lock to practice picking. To learn to pick with a pen, this is a great little lock. Good tolerances and feedback in general for a complete novice like me. The lure makes my choice interesting with alternating very high and very low cuts giving a good idea of what cleats are doing at either extreme. rake. Safety pins are no problem in this regard. It's even faster and easier than Masterlock #3. The standard 4 spade wave rake matches mine almost perfectly.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Modern

Bought this for Locksport and collecting coils.

Between trap and spool pin I made 2 or 3 wrong sentences when picking this lock. I haven't combed it yet, mostly because I know it works and has less finesse to comb through attacks than having an SPP core with coils in it. The reality of this lock is that once you have practiced with 40mm Master Locks it will be a natural next step. 40mm iirc with 1 coil then go ahead with that as it has the most coils. If you're wondering how the tension works on the top of the keyway and is tight at .04"…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Upgrade available

Some good news and bad news

First the bad news. I bought this in August to protect a wildlife cam in my backyard. A few weeks later there was a noticeable amount of rust on the shackle and lock, although he claims it is an "all weather" lock. It got so badly rusted/rusted last week that I couldn't get the key in. I live in Florida so the most extreme weather besides the heat was the reclaimed water from my sprinkler systems. And now the good news. I am contacting ABUS because I missed the Revain return window by a few…

Pros
