GM OEM 12497971 Power Window Regulator Motor - Genuine Parts Review

Fits fine after some work but rivets were not used because I couldn't find a rivet gun big enough to fit a rivet. Luckily, the hardware included in the package was a perfect fit. And I recommend this product to DIYers who want to try a tricky setup - in my case a 1988 Caddy El Dorado.

Definitely not too happy. I bought two of these a few months ago and someone finally bothered to fit them (don't know what I'm doing so had to wait for help) and they told me they didn't fit. I ended up buying the whole driver's door kit and said hell with the passenger because the kit was expensive to begin with. waste of money for me.

Worked well. Just make sure you drill a hole in the window regulator gear and put a screw in to get it all done. I didn't do this for the first side and had to take the other side apart to see the gears and their numbering. It explains that this is an instruction I didn't read at first. I remembered to do it on the other side and the install went fine.

Price seemed reasonable for a new product. When I got LIKE NEW from Revain. It means previously purchased and not used but returned. Open. This was NOT a genuine GM part as described. I'm assuming the person before me replaced it with a non-genuine one as they are cheaper and look very identical. It had parts stamps and none of the original GMs. Returned. Generally buy as new and expect OR when in doubt. Buy new with guarantee from Revain :)

Works great. My car is a 1989 Buick Riviera and the description didn't let me check for fitment of either this year or the Buick. But I rolled the dice and it worked. So if you have a GM car from the same era, it should work. So far so good. This was a replacement for my 1988 Chevy K5 Blazer and it fit and worked perfectly. Just a little tip, it was the main PIA that got to the engine. In fact, I cut open the door and carefully pushed the metal out of the way. After it was installed I folded everything back up, added some small panels and twisted the sections together.
