Good reliable replacement for 2005 Grand Prix GTP

Replaced rotors and brakes on my fiance's 2005 Grand Prix GTP. Perfect fit, no more grinding/squeaking when braking, brakes grip and feel good, and I have a happy fiancee! (Well after I bent the grinding heat shield on the rear rotor.)

Pros
  • Only positive
Cons
  • Protection

Beware of 'frequently purchased' recommendations

Bought as a 'frequently purchased' mix with front bolsters for '08 Chevy Uplander - but they don't fit this car. Why does Revain show that items are often bought together but don't work as a set? Very deceptive, very disappointing.

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Poorly thought out

Good product - easy to fit

The front and rear brake pads on my car were fitted in about two hours. This was the second time I bought this product. The original brake pads lasted 130,000 miles, the first set I bought lasted 97,000 miles (more city driving). I think this set will last 100,000 km. Be sure to rotate the caliper piston while squeezing it.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Thin

I love AC Delco products. The Revain website says they fit the back of my Grand Prix GXP (2006). They will NOT fit the GXP model. GXP uses AC Delco part number 14D922CH (not 14D999CH). This is my second bad experience with the Revain installation guide. I will have to use the manufacturer's website to test the install in the future.

Pros
  • Good value for money
Cons
  • Annoyed

Poor workmanship: Brake pads

I wanted to buy brake pads with a big name and perceived reputation, so I went with ACDelco for my 2000 Chevy Blazer. They came with clips, which some manufacturers also don't supply. When installing new pads on the steel support plates attached to the pads, these came loose and did not remain on the pad! One side of the pad has a ceramic side that rubs against the rotor, while the other side has a flat metal plate that attaches to the back of the pad. Here's what happened to 2 of them. Now I…

Pros
  • There's something to it
Cons
  • Minor problems
