2004 Blazer now has all fan speeds

The first two fan speeds stopped working, but after replacing the defective one with this part - simply on my 2004 Blazer - I have all four fan speeds available again. At the same time replaced the fan. It's been 3 months and everything works.

  • Excellent Design

Still working, no packaging

This is the second set of fan motor resistors that I have purchased. The first was packaged a little better and works perfectly, but the second was in the box due to lack of packaging, as you can see in the photo. I'm sure this will work fine too, but bouncing off a potentially sensitive part isn't a good idea.

Exact Replacement in GM Box:

Original GM in GM Box. It's a self-destructing device, and if you're having fan issues, that's most likely the problem. As soon as the fan stops (this thing fails at low speed), the "cooling" for this thing stops, and then the next position heats up and so on. My old one looks like new. Checked and found defective diodes.

Pros
  • One Year Trial
Cons
  • Update Availability

Probably the best replacement available but has flaws

Genuine GM part actually made by Indak who normally do good stuff. Mechanically very well made compared to some imitations, but unfortunately the thermal fuses are a bit oversensitive and tend to burn out after a few years, after which fan speeds 1 and 2 no longer work. This was true even after I installed a new fan motor. If they put thermal fuses with a slightly higher temperature rating, it would be a winner.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Thanks for helping me solve my problem

That worked great. With a little advice I was able to fix a problem I had with my truck all winter. My defroster kept blowing a fuse and when it worked it only worked at high speed. Thanks to Amazon I was able to buy this relatively cheap part and install it in my 2001 GMC Sonoma in minutes and my problem was solved. The part worked perfectly. It was easy to fix. It was very approachable compared to a mechanic.

Just because it says ACDelco on it doesn't mean it's true.

Replacement part ordered and received quickly, it came in an unlabeled box, no ACDelco branding. The appearance was identical to the original part, so I completed the installation and verification process, everything is fine. Due to the cool weather, I didn't use the air conditioning often, but when I needed to smoke, I started blowing air out of the vents. I checked in to see if I can return or get a replacement but it was too late. I ended up buying a new part at a local car dealership…

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Volume

All 4 fan speeds are working again

Two different mechanics suggested that the fan motor switch could be expensive to fix. First the low (1) speed went away, then both 1 and 2 worked. I accidentally read a thread about this for my 2000 S10. It has been suggested that replacing the fan motor resistor might solve the problem. For example, do this before replacing the fan motor or switch, etc. So bought it and watched the video. was not a difficult task. All in all it took me about 20 minutes. The video doesn't show the battery…
