Bought for my 84 k20, works fine with the gauge but it heats up at 220, t-stat 195, someone bought it for a similar truck and said he was working at 60° plus above normal temperature. I don't know why, but I think I feel the same way. It doesn't bounce up or down but stays steady between 210° and 220° will come back because for $30 I expect a better reading.

My temp gauge stopped working so I went to my local auto parts store and bought a new one which read about 30 degrees above normal. Sent this back and got this one and it says it right on the label. I read somewhere that single wire transmitter units use the motor unit for grounding (return) instead of using teflon tape. High temperature thread sealant was used, no leak. Happy with this purchase.

I bought this for my 1987 Chevrolet pickup and immediately noticed my engine temp went up over 60 degrees. Plugged in my scanner to see what the other coolant temp gauge read, it showed the same as the thermostat but to be sure I compared the readings with an IR gun, the temp in the thermostat head and body was within 5 degrees . offset by 190 degrees from each other. I have always bought parts for ac delco and have never complained. I suspect they have now given things away to inferior…
