Described as used but as new

Described as used but as new. In fact, it was a damaged unit. The anchoring of the electrical connection on the pump housing is broken. I had to tie the connector to the car frame. The block works. I recommend being honest with the condition of the part.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Only available in black

Great product but difficult to install

Installed in 2008 Chevy Cobalt LS. A little difficult to install; Took me about half a day (including installing the valve). If water is dripping from the old pump, be sure to replace the air supply valve with it, otherwise it will be the same as the old one. Also clean the hose to remove any remaining water from it before installing the new pump. You may also need to replace the 40A fuse in the fuse box. It is recommended to use dielectric grease on electrical connectors and anti-seize thread…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Failed after 2 months Excellent service from Revain under warranty

My 2006 Chevy Cobalt coded P0411, upon diagnosis it was the air pump. Bought this replacement for Revain, received and installed quickly. It worked for 2 months before a short circuit started in the pump and blew the 40A fuse for the pump. I checked the relay, received the circuit and checked the wires, the pump turned off, the fuse did not blow, the pump connected, the fuse blows at start. This part only lasted 2 months before I gave up. Unacceptable considering it's easy to change (15…

Do it yourself: Spare parts

I put the car on the ramp, put the old mat on and with a little time and patience it could be changed. It took about an hour and a half. The difficulty for me was loosening the hose fittings, of which there were 2. First I disconnected the battery as the starter was nearby and didn't want to short out anything. Then I sprayed the 2 hose connections with some WD40 and with a little prying with a screwdriver and some elbow grease I was able to separate the connections. There is an external…

Quality OE fit for parts

2008 Cobalt, 2.2LS, 55,000 miles. Code P0411. First check the 40A fuse. The location is clearly marked on the back of the "Air Injection Pump" fuse box or something like that, I don't remember exactly. It's green and costs about $7, so don't throw in too many of these baddies. If it burned out, you most likely need this pump. This lift isn't a difficult task, if you're doing it lying on your back like I did, it's a little harder. It is located at the front of the engine block between the air…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Good but not great
