this is not a one way check valve it is a minimum pressure bidirectional valve. It prevents water from entering the rear window washer by gravity alone. Once the washer pump is activated, the pressure exceeds the minimum set by this valve and water flows through the system. Rear window washer jets. I actually used it for something else. I read his part number mentioned in the GM TSB about a rear washer fluid retention issue. I have a '98 Dodge Durango with a separate rear tank. This was the perfect part for my 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer LS. Before adding this, I would have to hold down the washer button for a few seconds before the liquid would spurt out (the wipers would move back and forth before the liquid hits the window). When I sprayed again immediately afterwards (within a second or two) there was almost no delay in the liquid spraying. Between sprayings, liquid dripped back from the nozzles into the tank.
