2006 Avalanche - Perfect Fit

This hose on a 2006 Chevy Avalanche 5.3L was the perfect replacement. Don't forget to replace those pesky GM clamps with good old straps and worm screws while you're at it.

At least as good as the OEM part that still worked afterwards.

Identical to the original part in shape and size (see attached photo). At least as good as the original part, which was still working after 14 years or 75,000 miles, but it's such a simple and inexpensive replacement that it's worth getting before it fails. I bought this upper hose as well as the lower hose and replaced both while doing the coolant flush. The combination of both made the process more logical and efficient. Exact fit 2003 Avalanche Z66

Pep Boys wanted about $600 to replace the upper and lower radiator hoses. Ah, because they had to "change the coolant." Yes, I'll admit a lot of coolant spilled when you removed the bottom hose. I bought 3 gallons from Walmart for this job and have 3/4 gallons left for future radiator tank fill: $12.35 per gallon + cost of top and bottom hoses: about another $70. The total cost of this work is well under $150. Remove the air intake hose and you have enough room for it. I don't know about you…
