Description of ACDelco Specialty Rear Shock Absorber with Spring Assistance, Model 519-5

Constant rate front coil springs can help improve stability and maintain ride height. Variable rate rear coil springs provide 500 lbs (per pair) of load capacity. [not to exceed vehicle gvwr (gross vehicle weight rating). product does not increase payload.]. Seamless drawn-over-mandrel (dom) tubing decreases internal component wear, resulting in longer service life. Super finished, chromed, piston rod provides anti-corrosion properties, a more consistent wear surface, proper seal lubrication, and longer product life. Real-world tested to ensure that the shocks will fit intended vehicles and applications. Fit type: Vehicle Specific.

Rear Spring Shocks ACDelco

They look good, work well but the only problem is that the top ring that holds the spring is plastic. Let's see how long it lasts, maybe it breaks off.

Cons
  • There are problems

I like them: Replacement parts

Increased ride height by about 1.5 inches, but I have video of it moving on the road and stabilizing it to correct the ride height. This is a great upgrade for any damper available and cheaper than all the big overs. The only downside is that they are not regulated.

Cons
  • Requires socket

AC Delco quality, easy installation

Fits in place of very old air shocks on a 70's Chevelle. Soon they will assist normal feathers when towing a boat. Fits well and rides at around 40-50 pounds of pressure just like my air shocks. They appear to be quality devices as expected from ac delco. Packed with new ground cleats when you need them.

Cons
  • So-so

Smooth driving and increased ground clearance

Good shock absorbers. I installed them on my '84 Buick Regal (Limited). When unstretched, the new shocks sit about an inch lower than my old set. Note that my old shocks were 10 year old air shocks that didn't hold air (meaning they were always fully compressed). So installing new ones has significantly increased my rear ground clearance. I can't speak to the exact meaning of changing my ride height as I installed new rear coil springs at the same time. However, the wheel changed well from 3…
