Lousy Suspension Upgrade, Not Recommended

When I tried this product for my automotive needs, I was completely disappointed with its performance. It actually made the ride worse than before! The monotube design doesn't provide any improvement on the car's suspension. I would not recommend this product at all.

Pros
  • None
Cons
  • Made the ride worse

Spend a few bucks more and get the assembly

The product was fine but I wish I had just spent the extra money on the whole assembly. I had to buy 2 tools and cheat death twice by trying to compress the spring.

Pros
  • Replacement parts
Cons
  • Obsolete model

Mistakes have been made.

2009 Silverado. I took off the old rack and started compressing the coils. I used a tool developed for this by O'Reilly's. It wasn't enough. Two grown men couldn't twist the latch tight enough to grab this bad boy. I returned those shocks and paid a little extra to put the Monroes together. So much easier. These shocks may be good, but I couldn't safely remove the old ones from the spool, so I reinstalled them.

Pros
  • Shock absorber
Cons
  • Hard to say
