Terrible Tensioner for Automotive Belts

According to my experience this tensioner is a complete waste of money .it fails to keep the belt properly tensioned, resulting in annoying noises and eventually leading to belt slippage. The only positive aspect of this tensioner is that it is easy to install. However, that doesn't make up for its poor performance. I would not recommend this tensioner to anyone needing a reliable solution for their automotive belt system..

Pros
  • Durable and long-lasting performance.
Cons
  • Pricier than some aftermarket options.

I think even original parts are bad these days

Went to install, misplaced timing belt, used proper hex key to retract tensioner, felt step/stuck half way, and flimsy aluminum bracket holding socket just torn out! The tensioner never went all the way back, it just did it with the power of its own spring and whatever made it heavy halfway. Incidentally, a mechanic with 30 years experience had to buy one locally, only to find out it was the same brand just without the GM logo, installed it and pushed it back with an Allen key to prevent it…

Pros
  • Engine parts
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
