Terrible Speedometer, Not Worth It

Thanks to my knowledge gained in practice as an automotive technician, I can confidently say that this speedometer is a complete waste of money. The only positive thing to say about it is that it is an original equipment part, but that doesn't make up for its subpar quality. The installation process was a nightmare, and even after that, the speedometer did not function properly. Save yourself the trouble and invest in a better replacement part.

Problem Fixed - Replacement Parts

No complaint about the product but for my car it was 5 inches shorter than the original and made it difficult to connect to the dashboard. There's another one that's 5 inches longer and also GM certified to fit in "my car," which would be better if the cable didn't have the tight radius going into the firewall. I chose the wrong one. Not sure which one you need, but do a little research on your specific vehicle. Otherwise a great product and the speedometer runs very quietly and is now…

Fixed jittery speedometer

Oddly enough, my '89 Camaro IROC-Z had a two-piece wire that used to be commonly used with non-electronic cruise controls. Somewhere, however, someone must have used the wrong lubricant because the speedometer needle jumped. and bad in the cold winter months. This causes problems by sending an erroneous signal to the ECM. For the money it was the perfect solution.
