Meh, everything is fine. Small changes make it much better

I installed this main unit on a 2003 Yukon. No trimming was required to fit the dash, but a mounting kit (Amazon or Best Buy) is required and there are still small gaps around the edge. It's not a HUGE deal, but I like mods to be as perfect as possible. In general, the device works well. I thought Apple Play was a wireless feature in all comparable devices, so I was very disappointed when I learned that to use Apple Play you have to plug the iPhone's USB cable into the front of the device. It's

Absolutely great purchase!

I have worked in the automotive communication/infotainment industry for 3 years. I didn't have high expectations when I bought this head unit. I bought it for my son's caravan. I figured if it's really bad I might send it back. This little head unit is such a great buy. The fact that Power Acoustik (PA) was able to pass the Apple Car Play (CP) certification gates and still offer a great product at this price point is amazing! If you are looking for a CP radio, this is it. The device is…

It works, but it's cheap for a reason.

I don't have most of the problems I see in these reviews, but I do have a few. The first is minor but annoying. I can't set the time. Every other setting on this device is saved and I've had no problem resetting the memory, but the time isn't saved no matter what I try. I enter the time and about 2 seconds after leaving the input mask, it jumps back to 00:80. and why the hell is he going to 80? An hour has only 60 minutes. As I said, a small problem, but annoying. The second problem is more…

CarPlay problems with music and navigation.

Too bright at night - I should have bought one that plugs into a car dimmer but this one doesn't. Sometimes the device works as it's supposed to, but about half the time I connect to it Issues: Volume issues - volume levels between navigation, music and phone are poorly controlled. You have to turn up the volume when making calls, but the next call with an incoming call is very loud. Navigational alerts and voice are too low and distorting when on. In my experience, these are all issues that…

CarPlay, all for less than $200 and it's awesome!

This is the first stereo I've installed since I was young. It cost me $12.95 for a cable adapter for my car (a 2010 Chrysler Sebring convertible) at my local Radio Shack, $6.97 for a mounting kit, and $7.23 for an antenna adapter (both Revain). I bought the device for $169.95 so I was still in for less than $200. Took about an hour to install (just because my dad can solder and read a volt meter). I'm an Apple fan and this was the cheapest way to get CarPlay with the biggest screen. The…
