Too much money for plastic horses.

I first got acquainted with this game at a friend's house. I liked the game and the quality of everything. The board was very good and the horses were metal. I immediately went to Revain and placed my order. I'm ashamed I didn't read all the information, but for $80 I expected the same quality. The board is heavy but not that nice. I was very disappointed to discover the horses are plastic. For real? For $80? Dissatisfied! Where's the quality game? How much do you have to spend to get it?

Pros
  • GOLS certificate
Cons
  • Expensive

We all love this horse racing game. However, remember that the game also requires a deck of cards. Easy enough to play with the whole family. Sometimes we include our grandchildren aged 11 and 7. Or an adult-only version for when friends are over. Or even take it to a party. They can play for money or chips, or like we do with our grandchildren, use pieces from another children's game as chips. You don't have to use anything if you don't want to. You can still play the game without placing…

Need better quality control before shipping.

We really like this game. We played it with friends so we decided to buy it. Although expensive we booked just before Christmas so we could have a nice family game that lots of people could play together. Would give it 5 stars but I'm on my 3rd exchange as of today. Each arrived damaged. The latter is the worst. None of this is shipping damage. Any problems are definitely poor quality control. For the price I pay, the workmanship should be impeccable. Hopefully the 4th is of the quality I…

Low quality! suitable for cutlery and knife accessories

I am very disappointed with this product. We bought this game after playing at a friend's recently. The game itself is a lot of fun! But the quality of this board is very disappointing for $90! The horses are made out of very cheap plastic, while our friends' board was heavier, almost metal. At least 4 pieces of gold metal in the holes are bent and the horses are not properly seated in the hole. The game board stickers are bulging in several places and are lifting at the edges. Our friend's…

A nice game that is great for group play!

The game is BEAUTIFUL! We played this at a friend's house with a half-sized group of people and we loved it! I was a bit shocked at the price but we wanted one of our own to play with friends and family. I've indulged in a walnut and it's fine. The only complaint is about the horses. I wish they were metal instead of plastic. Sometimes they are stuck in the eyelets, which makes it difficult to remove and the plastic flakes off a bit. We're just trying not to push those parts too far. If you…

FUN but cheap plastic thing

Bought this game literally 1 day after playing with friends one night. Really good fun once you get started and the more players you have the better. It's easy to play, everyone is involved, and when the winning horse crosses the finish line, people cheer like a real horse race! So my complaint is about cheap plastic horses. Such a contrast to a very nice real wood game board. Some (about 4 or 5) of the horses we received had pins that didn't fit properly in the metal holes on the board. Some…

Maybe overpriced but good fun.

HOLY COW or horse. This is a fun game. It's also expensive. I was waiting to receive this as a birthday present for myself with the gift cards I received. The quality is there but it's a little disappointing how some corners have been cut for this price point. For example, the horses' numbers aren't painted on, they're stickers you have to apply yourself, and some of the lettering on the board is pre-applied stickers instead of paint, which would give them an "heirloom" quality. But the…
