Samsung S6 owners and cable cutters should read

Samsung S6 owners should read this. S6 no longer supports MHL (HDMI direct input with adapter connected to TV). I bought a Samsung Allcast Wireless Hub and it worked, but with less than satisfactory results. Video playback when mirroring was choppy and robotic. Connecting the device was not easy, had to keep pressing the reset button. I also bought a Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter but no luck with that either. I thought I had no options and gave it a try. That works great. The phone…

Pros
  • HIGH QUALITY AND LOW LATE - HD video support up to 1080p30 and 2-channel stereo, as well as dual-band support for 5GHz and 2.4GHz WiFi frequencies. ScreenBeam Mini2 requires a TV or projector with an HDMI port and a compatible mobile device.
Cons
  • Fits

Works with LG Gpad, V20, Samsung s6 and S7.

A little more expensive than some but the reviews here and elsewhere on the web have been good. It only took 1 minute to mirror my phone on TV. Plug in and power on with the included USB cable and power adapter, or with the nearest USB port on your TV. The TV immediately showed information, the devices were easily included in the search. The streaming wasn't choppy and the audio was fine. Do not move the device more than 30 feet, otherwise it will cause playback problems. The sideline works…

Pros
  • WIRELESS MIRROR. Get rid of an expensive HDMI cable and the hassle that comes with it. The Mini2 wireless receiver connects to your big screen's HDMI port and your mobile device connects automatically.
Cons
  • Expensive

Get an MHL converter instead!

After trying Screenbeam for a week, I gave up and tried the MHL converter and it was great! It connects your phone directly to your TV with perfect picture and sound. Don't spend $46 on a screenbeam when you can get a hassle-free MHL converter for $12! My Screenbeam review is below. I received it today and am using it with my Samsung Galaxy S5. Setup was easier than I had hoped. 1,2,3 as indicated. Initially, there were no problems, but after about 20 minutes, delays began to appear…

Pros
  • NO WIFI NETWORK REQUIRED - ScreenBeam Mini2 creates a dedicated wireless connection, which means no crashes, lag, choppy or stuttering video, delivering Full HD picture quality and very low latency.
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Misleading Ads

Let me start with the main finding of my attempt to stream from a Windows 10 desktop PC to a non-Miracast enabled Smart TV (old Samsung with SmartHub). THIS WILL NOT WORK WITH WINDOWS 10. POINT. The transmitter is recognized as a WiFi adapter, but there is no driver available to get it working. The software listed in the manual will not complete the installation as it refuses to do so unless you are using Windows 7 or 8. What you really need to make Miracast streaming an option is a WiFi…

Pros
  • NO APPS – No apps or subscriptions required to use, meaning no recurring payments. Instant connection to create a point-to-point wireless connection between your device and HDTV. Not limited to specific streaming devices.
Cons
  • Not as thick as the other options

Simple, efficient and easy. What else could you ask?

Update August 15, 2018 I've been using it for a while and really like the product. Remember that this is a personal network (e.g. network) device. The only thing I need to point out is the issues with using this device with a VPN like Cisco Anyconnect. Depending on your VPN settings, you may not be able to use this product while connected to a VPN. Seems to work for some, not for others. It wasn't too hard for me to figure out why, but you should be aware that it may affect your experience…

Pros
  • EASY TO USE. Just plug the adapter into your HDTV and you're done with three simple clicks.
Cons
  • Exchange Availability
