EECV Scanner - Tools and Equipment

Product is easier to use than it looks. There is no substitute to test the performance of these older Ford vehicles. The horn is difficult to hear due to engine noise. The light works fine.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Big and bulky

OBD2 is much better

which is PITA. You have to look at the red light and think about what it's doing, and then read to understand what it means. Got an error code after several attempts. OBD2 is a much better system in new cars. But it is necessary for the old.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Later I will add

Great tool for old cars.

Make sure the scanner is suitable for your car. Take a piece of paper and a pen and you're done. This device connects easily and works like a charm. If you don't have the codes in your service manual, you can easily find them online. Convenient and inexpensive. Why not have this tool in your car and make your life easier? Makes the check engine light less traumatic!

Pros
  • Sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • Doubt

Buy one with numeric display

Bought my CP9015 locally not through Revain. I regret this purchase. You must count the pulses (flashes and beeps) to read the trouble codes. With 3 digit error codes up to around 500, this counter and all others like it are very difficult to use. When your vehicle has multiple trouble codes, it is very difficult to know where one code begins and another ends. If you make a mistake due to miscalculation, or mix up the beginning of one code with the end of the previous one, you're wasting time…

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • quality
