DOES NOT lock the voltage

Works fine but most of these boards can lock the current voltage by holding the button down. This one doesn't snap, so you have to select the voltage every time you plug it into USB.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not fancy

Power everything via USB-C

The one-button interface is a little fiddly, but it gets the job done. Combine this with a USB-C multimeter and you have a great system for testing power supplies, batteries and cables.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Legacy

Doesn't work - power converter

I'm trying to use the board to run a USB-C PD power supply and a 20V power supply to charge my laptop connected via a barrel jack. After connecting, the voltage potential on the board is measured at 5 V. I've tried disconnecting/reconnecting power to reset the PD negotiation as the reviews suggested and it still only outputs 5V.

Pros
  • fun
Cons
  • not reliable

Not as advertised Best in Power Accessories

Ordered ZY12PDN and received ZYPDE. Two stars deducted for that. I tried switching the ZYPDE to a different voltage with a switch and I was able to get the indicator light to turn blue which should output 15V or 20V, but I only read 5V on the "Output" pads I can't get the status bar to stay on between ZYPDE reboots either. I would give zero stars if I could.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Came wired for 20V. I removed the soldering stick to get it up to 15V.

Mine came with a soldering stick between the two outer pads. I put a meter on it and the output was 20V. I removed the solder bridge and measured 15V. This is just what I needed to make a 15v decoy cord to power my CPAP trip with my PD phone box. This device plus a 6 foot cord with a 2.5mm plug provides the same functionality as the patented $500 CPAP travel battery.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • I will add later

Does not charge - does not hold the set voltage

I bought 3 of these to avoid receiving a broken one - none of them work. In fact, he doesn't feed anything. The button board version does not store the voltage setting and will not let through more than 2 watts. The USBc module - I use it to charge my battery - goes through a boost converter and I assumed it would take the 20V, 5A output from this USBC card and charge my batteries - but it does it not. Don't buy if you're trying to do what I did.

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Best electrical widget received this year

I'm an electrical engineer working in the automotive industry. We have to test the car controls a lot. I used to have to buy a bulky car battery to power our outdoor testing products. This product really brings me a lot of convenience as I can use the thin and beautiful power bank used for my phone to do the work. This is truly a magical and ingenious widget. has memory. Can I deviate from the standard output voltage of 5 V?

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • Repair

Works great!

PD emulator works as advertised. It took about 2 seconds to remove the solder bridge. The voltage is 14.6* (close enough to 15 for government work). Soldered on the appropriate 5.5 x 2.1 plug and then installed it in the project box. Ready! I could spend $379 on a CPAP battery from any manufacturer. The Medistrom Pilot Lite isn't much better at $339 since you still have to buy a set of adapter cables. Instead: With the advent of usb-c pd I now have a perfectly viable alternative to aโ€ฆ

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Slightly torn

I bought a bare ZY12PDN board but got a ZY12PDN board from YZX Studio instead .This board has other modes but couldn't reprogram to start at a different voltage (default is 5v).I started the return process, the seller refused the return and just issued a refund (quickly).I hope mine Experience is an exception as this device, if functional, would be useful. In the attached video, I switch different voltages, which is what this board does correctly, and then unplug and plug the USB-C cable whileโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities

  • Not sure
