These kits worked well on my 2017 iMac 27 5k

I ordered 2 of these kits to upgrade my 2017 iMac 27 5k to 64GB RAM. I installed all 4 memory modules at once (removed 2 Apple modules) and worked from top to bottom. Booting with a completely swapped RAM took about 30 seconds, maybe a little more or less. This was significantly faster than the partial Crucial RAM upgrade (2 new modules, 2 Apple modules left) I performed on a similar computer where initial boot times were a frantic few minutes. Performance is as fast as expected, and this Mac…

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • I am concerned

Adamant, you're getting reports of this RAM crash with Big Sur, seems to have started crashing around the time I first updated from Catalina. And the last 3 days have been constant troubleshooting and crashes (black screen, computer crashed immediately and almost every time I left and the computer went to sleep and then came back and it was still on but not responding with a black screen. Yesterday the screen was a bit green and I remembered this similar pattern (not the V-Card pattern) due to…

Great product, easy to install!

We bought a 2017 Apple iMac, 27" Retina 5K Display and wanted to upgrade our RAM right away. After much research we settled on Admanta RAM cards (2X16 GB). accompanying instructions as well as confirmations from Apple white papers available. The update took me about 10 minutes and our iMac booted up correctly the first time. After 6 months of use there were no problems. A quality product that works as advertised and at a good price I would recommend this product buy and use again.

  • Easy Installation

  • Almost OK

A little trouble at first, but now it's good!

This may be my first Revain review after many purchases to support Revain's $136 billion in sales last year. Ha, anyway, I recently bought a 2017 iMac from Apple. My wife is a photographer and videographer and she needed a better computer than our 2015 iMac. After a lot of research with a non-computer guy, I decided not to buy additional RAM through Apple and get a 32GB setup from Adamanta. The installation seemed easy after doing my research and I concluded that it is an easy install. I had…

Follow the instructions carefully.

I read the reviews before ordering this memory for my 2017 iMac. Several people have already noticed how to install it, and rightly so. After opening the RAM slot on the back of the device, the 16Gb modules fit into the top two slots. Apple RAM is below 2. Plug in and boot. The device takes a minute to turn on and see the change, but once it's booted up and running, it shows 40 GIG Ram. Perfect for my needs and adds a few years to the life of my car. I had no problems and it was an easy…

A big increase in performance, but the old modules have been removed.

EDIT: Just checked the differences between my original 8GB, the new 32GB and the combined 40GB. Running an iMac with just the new 32GB Adamanta RAM yielded the best results. (Results photo provided) I tested on Geekbench and Novabench and the results were the same. 7-8% overall performance improvement over 40GB and even better than the original 8GB. Where I noticed the biggest difference was in the program's responsiveness, CPU performance, and Fusion Drive's read and write speeds. Huge…

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Oh no! But first.

My 2 16GB modules arrived today. I'm writing this because many will likely make the same mistake I did. Adamata 16Gb modules in their slots. I then took the original 2 x 4Gb modules and popped them into the 2 remaining slots, put the cover back on and tried to power them on. Nothing but a black screen. Let's get to the solution. Insert 2 x 16Gbps modules in the top 2 banks as bank 0 and the bottom 2 as bank 1. If you want to insert your original 2 x 4Gbps Apple modules into the bottom 2 slots…
