This is an OEM so you can't go wrong. The updated pen has a metal lock nut that can be unscrewed by hand. However, I prefer the ones in the picture, but actually it's all the same.

I borrowed a free bike from NextDoor that lacked the hardware to attach it to the parent bike. I needed a seatpost clamp and a pin. Both parts are identical to the original.

This is a must-have trail-a-bike connector pin that I bought cheap. It looks like it will work, I wish the nut was self-locking or the clamp design was a little more secure, similar to the latch on our bike trailer, but I suspect the design has been proven to work since they've been using it for years. I won't be able to test it until spring, when hopefully my daughter will be big enough to ride it.
