Disc came in a thin bubble wrap. I didn't notice the crushed open circuits until I placed it on my surface, it sparked and fried both the M.2 drive and my Surface Pro 4. I'm sure it worked fine, but get an adapter with a screen around it and save yourself replacing all your hardware.

Minutes after delivery, I installed my SSD that I removed from a broken laptop. I connected to an external USB 3 port on my Windows desktop computer. The two drive letters were immediately visible and I was copying files in no time. It just works. The internal M.2/SATA enclosure caused boot conflicts and it worked. Defect? The electronics are exposed so you need to be careful when handling them when inserting.

The title speaks for itself. New machines are increasingly using this format. The SSD needed to be upgraded to one and this solution worked great. Good product.

later I think you get what you pay for and in this case I didn't overpay and didn't get a working adapter. The m.2 slot was mounted upside down on the board and didn't accept an SSD flash drive. I reconfigured it and bought a more expensive USB enclosure instead.

I gave this item 3 stars but downgraded it to 1 star. I cut my finger because the edges were sharp. I will file a complaint and return the product for a refund. And the item broke off into a smaller size because the wood material is thin.
