Description of addi FlexiFlips XL Knitting Needles (Set of 3) ๐Ÿงถ - US 10 (6.0mm): Ergonomic and Versatile for Knitting Projects

Needle Size: US 10, 6.0mm. UNIQUE CONSTRUCTION: These specially designed tips with short cords (~1.5") are technically circular needles, but rest comfortably in the hand to act as double pointed needles. VERSATILE DESIGN: Flexi Flips feature both an addi Rocket tip and an addi Turbo tip, you will always have the right needle when you need it!. EASY TO USE: Stitches are distributed over two needles and knit with the third, resulting in only two needle changes per round. FUN TO USE: Stitching up socks, cuffs, hats, and anything else in the round has never been more more enjoyable!.

Great compromise for knitters

When knitting small items in the round on size 8 needles I used to use two round or four bamboo needles. Circles slow me down, DPN hurts. FlexiFlips are a great must have, this is my third set. You'll be amazed at how fast you can knit with them and how light they feel in your hands.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Very expensive

Flexi Flips > DPNS and Circs

Every knitter has their own preference for how we prefer to knit in the round, but I wholeheartedly support Flexi Flips if you're undecided and want to try it. Having only 2 active needles (as opposed to 3 or 4 on DPNs) makes knitting a lot less "junky" and also reduces the amount of "ladders" you get between needles. The needle you're not working on doesn't get in the way like DPNs do, and little to no time is wasted moving the needles like you do with 2-ply or Magic Loop. 10/10 recommend.

Pros
  • Freehand
Cons
  • Disappear

IT WAS WORTH IT!

Seriously, I know flexi flips are $24 for three pins, but they are SO WORTH it! Seriously, give them a try. You will change your life. If you've ever struggled with the juggling that keeps 4 colons from slipping off your tiny sock needles, or sighed when you saw a huge gap between two stitches when you pulled a not-so-flexible cord through your magic loop, you I'm happy about the magic solution: Flexi-Flips. After blocking I can't even tell where the "seam" would be. Deafening. Brilliant. I'llโ€ฆ
