Excellent and well done!

THAT QUALITY! The price for an insanely well-made cutting mat like this is well worth the price! Over the years I have had many mats from companies like Alvin as well as some branded mats for Games Workshop and have used them for cutting mats, miniatures, painting, desktop protection and photo backgrounds. I was really impressed with it, it's 3 layers thick with a very nice smooth surface on both sides, no curl and very sharp and clear dimensions showing bright yellow on green and a dark muted…

Great price, no smell

Due to conflicting reviews about the 'smell' of the Adir Self Healing Mat, I felt the need to write a review. I got my 18x36 mat quickly thanks to Revain Prime, even though Blizzard just leveled the East Coast in 2016. It was sent in a flat box of the right size. I opened the box and braced myself for an incredibly unpleasant odor, but found only very faint scents that sort of reminded me of a magic marker. I'm sure it will go away within a day or two if not sooner. The mat is thick and hard…

It's everything I wanted

This is no ordinary cutting mat. I have used it to cover my drafting table which after 40 years of use is not the smoothest drafting surface. Not only does this mat fix that, it also eliminates the need for a T-square, since on most paper sizes I can use a triangle or ruler to draw straight lines if needed. The paper is aligned according to the lines marked on the mat and then I can do whatever I want because the paper is straight. The material is waterproof (so coffee and watercolor water) and

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Out of style

Pros: Very heavy, self-healing, virtually odorless. And it's two-sided. Cons: Measurements are misleading. I bought a mat 24x36. Spreading out the mat gives a width of 36 horizontally and 24 vertically. The measurements if you quilt and put a quilt ruler on and line up blocks/inches will line up correctly horizontally but not vertically. When you place the ruler(s) vertically, it will straighten up about six inches and then begin to slope about 1/16 to 1/8 inch on either side of the mat. I've…

The best way to get this rug is by sewing

While self-isolating, my wife and I decided to take up quilting as a hobby/activity. Okay actually she made up her mind and I agreed to help how it works. But the same result. We did all the research, she bought her quilting supplies, and I was the geometry guy and did the marking, cutting, and other prep work. 6 quilts, 2 table runners and a few pillows later, here is the result for this product: I've never heard of a self-healing rug. That is so cool! who knew I've probably made several…
