Works great, pretty stable

I've set them to output 24 volts from a 19 volt source. They don't seem to have a reliability problem at 2.5 amps. I checked it with an oscilloscope, with a load of about 250mV they give waves. With no load you can see hiccups, but typically the ripple is around 50mV.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • cable is shorter than other picks.

Current ratings are excessive

Forget the 3-4A claims, 2A only lasted a few minutes at these levels. Still good units and useful for many things, just be very aware of what you're asking of them.

Pros
  • Permanent test results
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Stable output when input changes

Seems to maintain a constant output voltage regardless of input voltage - accurate to within 0.1V in my experience. I haven't changed anything yet and tried to pass more than 0.5A. Under this load, the device only heats up slightly above the ambient temperature for a few hours. Haven't tested at higher currents yet but my application doesn't require it.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

does the job. but not very well

This regulator does the job, however you will need to adjust the calibration depending on the load used. If you have a variable load, the load control response will not be stable. Also, the breadboard was not designed to operate on a 2.54mm pitch, so it will not easily fit into a solderless breadboard or breadboard.

Works but overheats and dies

Works? Yes. Is that the whole truth? no It works - for a while. Unfortunately, ICs need a heatsink if you intend to use them for more than a week. In a way this is obvious - this is not a design flaw - this is what buck-boost converters do. But they must be sold with a heatsink or else they will just die after 40 hours (total, not continuous) of operation.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Do not use in audio applications.

I built myself a soundbar. Required 12 volts and 5 volts from an array of 4 lithium batteries so I use 2 of these regulators to generate the required voltages. Here's the catch. In addition to the DC voltage from the regulators, there is a lot of switching noise. This will eventually carry over to the audio output. Switching noises are unfortunately in the audio range of approx. 5-10 kHz. I'll probably have to put more effort into filtering the output of the regulators and may need to install…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Not bad

Beware of the exit page (+)!

Great product for the money you pay. Its value has some downsides as mentioned in other reviews. However, I'm deducting a star for another reason: the fee is probably intended as a stepping stone. The output pad (+) is too close to one of the surface mount output capacitors and if you are not careful or want to provide the correct solder with lots of solder, it can result in a bad board. I think some of the bad reviews are due to this bad design. However, because it avoids connecting the two…

  • Absolute Legend

Ideal solution for higher voltage, low power appliances

I have an RV with a 12 volt system and I was trying to figure out the best way to run my 24 volt appliances . I was trying to find 12V DC power supplies when I came across this one. Since my 24V devices don't require much power, this seemed like the perfect solution! Changing the voltage is easy enough, all you need is a tiny flat head and a multimeter. This will definitely be easier if you have a friend hold the multimeter leads on the output side of this board as it can be a little tricky…

  • Satisfied so far
