My grandson really liked it, this is his first gun too. He found it easy enough to work with. If I kept it to myself, I wish there was a higher temp option. My boy used cedar to make his first project but you can barely see the burn marks.

Very poor quality product. The wood burner tip had imperfections such that it did not sit flush with the wood and the marks disappeared. The pen itself got very hot and the tips continued to loosen. I had to wait for it to cool and breathe in. Very uncomfortable to use. Not worth the money, hardly ever used. I will try to send it back

This product is garbage. It was a month before we opened the set and started practicing writing on wood with my kids. It wouldn't even get hot enough to leave tracks on the tree. We double checked to make sure we used it correctly. Don't waste your money on this Chinese junk.

Definitely great for beginners! Especially if you want to see if you like it before you spend a lot of money on a good one. It burns very well with wood! Be sure to try different types of wood and see what suits you To you! I personally love oak. It's easy and pops a lot better than greenwood which is another wood I had on hand. Otherwise the templates are amazing and overall I highly recommend buying this if you are a beginner, trying new hobby!
