Good for curtains, bad for showers

I ordered two of these - one to hang lightweight, gauzy curtains, and another to hold a shower curtain, liner and rings. I've had no problems with the rod holding lightweight curtains, but the rod in my shower only lasted 4 months. During that time, the rubbery plastic on the ends yellowed and hardened such that there was no friction to create tension/keep the rod up.

Pros
  • Master bathroom, did not want glass door on newly remodeled shower. Fits perfect easy to install.
Cons
  • The tension mechanism may cause damage to walls, paint, or wallpaper

Better than you can get at the big box hardware store.

Purchased this shower curtain rod as a replacement for one that we had purchased at the Home Depot. The one from Home Depot would fall everytime one of us took a hot shower. We realized that the reason it didn't work was because there was no spring tension, and it would expand when it got hot, and contract when it cooled off, resulting in it falling down almost everyday. That is not what is happening with this Ebay Basic Shower Curtain Rod. It has not fallen down since we installed it two…

Pros
  • It works!
Cons
  • The rod may be difficult to install

Great looking and Sturdy Curtain Tension Rod

What is your pet peeve for tension rods? Mine is that they slowly creep down over time or you can not get them level from side to side. These are great tension rods as they have a strong hold, without marking the walls and they look great. I have old casement windows and I do not want to screw anything into the walls or frames around the windows. I also love the look of the panes and at times want to remove the window treatments. These rods provide a great way to have privacy and light…

Pros
  • It was extremely easy to instal and very sturdy
Cons
  • The finials may be difficult to clean

Seems sturdy: my feedback

I ended up using this rod for a completely different purpose. I had planned on using it to hang some curtains as a back drop in a small bedroom, however, I am using it as a rod on our back porch so our grandkids have a place to hang their swimsuits and beach towels when they are done swimming.

Pros
  • Item as described. Quality is good. Easy to install.
Cons
  • The tension mechanism may be difficult to use for those with limited hand mobility

Perfect for hanging plants!

Perfect for my hanging plants! Now I don’t have to damage the ceiling in my apartment by installing hooks. That's my feedback!

Pros
  • Works perfectly.
Cons
  • It may be too bulky to store when not in use

Inexpensive and long tension rod

This is as easy as it gets, people. Needed to hang some black out curtains in my window which measures about 60" across and didn't want to screw into the wall. Many tension rods are smaller than this and I was excited to find a cheap one that would fit.It unscrews like a typical tension rod until you reach just slightly past the desired distance and then you pull it back and jam it in, hence the tension. The first one I bought of this had the tension spring inside unfortunately either snap or…

Pros
  • 7/8-inch diameter rod and 1.4-inch finials with rubber end caps for traction and a sturdy hold; adjustable from 78 to 108 inches
Cons
  • The adjustable width may cause curtains to bunch or gather in an unappealing manner

Great little tension bar

Easy to install, works well, even handsome, and inexpensive. I highly recommend. Had earlier bought an inexpensive tension bar for a shower curtain (we are awaiting the glass door for our new shower) and it was pathetic. Wouldn't stay up, even by itself. But this one works wonderfully.

Pros
  • Just easy to install and looks great!!
Cons
  • The tension mechanism may not hold up over time

Great for large windows or walkways

Bought this for a large picture window with a recessed sill. I didn’t want an outside mount curtain because it would make the room feel claustrophobic. So I took a chance with inside mount and this is perfect. No screws just twist and go. Don’t forget to put the curtain rings or curtains on before installing if you use the casement or grommets. Otherwise you’ll have to take the rod down and do it all again. I’m not saying that happened to ME, but well…I did learn the hard way. No big deal…

Pros
  • It was what I was looking for 🙆‍♀️
Cons
  • The tension mechanism may not hold up in high traffic areas

Using this as a curtain rod

This rod is being used as a curtain rod to use with my flora curtains because I wanted my curtains to be on the inside of the window frame since I had the room to put them there.

Pros
  • Very sturdy and easy to install.
Cons
  • The adjustable width may result in unevenly hung curtains

I purchased the rod over a year ago, made some fairly heavy curtains, and hung those curtains up using this rod. I originally searched through Ross, Target and Walmart looking for the longest curtain rods possible, but only found really flimsy ones and even then the longest rods weren't long enough for my big picture window in my living room. Then I finally forced myself to look through Ebay and found this product. To my amazement, the length fit well within the size of my living room window…

Pros
  • This is holding up a very heavy curtain over an 84 inch span. It works like a charm.
Cons
  • The finial design may not be sturdy enough for heavier curtains

perfect curtain rod

i live in a rental where i can’t drill holes into the wall, so this worked as the perfect curtain rod. easy to install and sturdy enough. love it

Pros
  • It's easy to use and pretty sturdy I had curtains and a plant hanging on it. It's holding up well.
Cons
  • The rod may not fit snugly in some window frames

does the job as intended.

I ordered two identical rods, but received one black and one silver, two different styles. Not worth trying to send it back and get the right one, but I guess right now you get what they send you.

Pros
  • Easy to use and looks great.
Cons
  • The finials may come loose easily

It is really sturdy!

I use this curtain rod to create some privacy for one of my closets. I place an air mattress against the curtain hanging from the rod for guests staying over. It has yet to move an inch in all of the abrasion from the air mattress. I even have accidentally propped the air mattress up (to take up less space during the day) on the curtain. It is super sturdy, yet surprisingly easy to set up. It was much easier to put up than some of the other curtain rods I used.

Pros
  • Good, sturdy rod at a good value. I recommend
Cons
  • The finials may be too high or low for optimal aesthetic appeal

Perfect size for my extra wide windows

I liked that I could get these in a long enough length to fit across my extra wide window in my apartment. They are study for the curtains I put up and have a good grip, easy to install and so far I haven't had any problems. I can open my curtains without fear of them falling down.

Pros
  • Bought two for sheer curtains. Works great so far. Dry easy to put it on.
Cons
  • The finial design may be too ornate for some tastes

twists but does not lock

works ok, but not very sturdy since there is no way to lock it after you twist to the desired length. fair price point when on sale but not worth full price

Pros
  • Easy to install, very sturdy and great price. Used for outdoor deck sunblock curtains.
Cons
  • The rod may be difficult to remove once installed

Pretty sturdy for my opinion

My span wasn't that much greater than the shortest point but even at that you can tension it with a bend. It's not to mean it isn't sturdy but just that the tensioner works well.

Pros
  • When the item is exactly as described the product is a winner.
Cons
  • The tension mechanism may not be strong enough to hold curtains in windy conditions

Great for outside: my feedback

I got these for porch. They have stops every inch and additional pressure points on each end. This keeps them nice and tight.

Pros
  • Great product fast ez trans very sturdy!
Cons
  • The finial design may be outdated

It’s also good for…

We bought this not for hanging shower curtains but to keep the doors closed in our RV when driving from state to state! We needed a cost effective way to keep the doors and drawers from swinging open in our relatively new 2018 Motorhome.Because this curtain rod was adjustable, it was easy to fit in between door sills and between drawers and seats in our RV.Simple, easy to install, and very cost friendly.Thought I’d share another use case for a basic curtain rod.

Pros
  • Got this curtain rod for my office window. It’s easy to put up and nice to look at for the price.
Cons
  • The rod may slide or shift out of place easily

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Looks nice and does the job

The tension spring is very strong. I however am not. I was able to adjust it to a close fit. Then I just held it in place while rotating the bar to continue to tighten in place.

Pros
  • Easy to put up and has stayed exactly where I put it unlike other tension rods I have tried
Cons
  • The finial design may be too intricate for some tastes

Works well. Can be tricky at first.

Works well and holds well. At least as well as I would expect. Twist to tension and de-tension the rod length. That's my review!

Pros
  • Does what it's made to do
Cons
  • The finials may be prone to fading over time
