Works well on Mazda 3

Ordered this for my 2014 Mazda 3S GT. At 80,000 miles I've already expired a new air filter. The retailer charged up the arm and leg so I stumbled upon this reusable one. Installation was very easy, pull off 2 clips, pull out the old one and attach the new one. I have to say there is some oil on the rubber around the new air filter so wear gloves. It also fitted perfectly! It's hard to tell if there's been an increase in performance, but it's safe to know that the air filter is clean.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Hard to say

Great air filter in filters

I've always been an AEM fan and have installed their filters/intakes on two of my previous cars. Cannot be compared to the washable Dryflow filter. I bought it for my 2016 Mazda CX-5 and so far I love it. Not sure about the power increase, but throttle response is slightly better and it sounds great at high rpm. UPDATE: For those with a 2018 Mazda6 2.5L Turbo, this will not work. The dimensions of the air chamber/filter have changed. Still a great filter, just hope AEM makes a new one for the…

Solid upgrade choice

Perfect for my 2018 Mazda 3 HB and very easy to install. At first I was concerned that this filter has fewer pleats than the OEM (20 vs 25) but it doesn't. does not degrade performance. Performance improvements are noticeable but not significant. Getting out of line seems easier. The motor actually makes less noise now. In terms of filtration efficiency, FWIW, the OEM filter has a filtration efficiency of 99.7%. The efficiency of this AEM is 99.3%. It will pay off in two years. Dry, unoiled for

Filters are 100% justified

These AEM dry flow filters are of the highest quality. I've bought many for different cars and they all work great. I used to buy a K&N but the oil on the filters gets sucked into the intake manifold and blows out the MAF sensor causing airflow problems. With a dry filter there are no problems with oil. It is less restrictive than traditional paper filters and will also save you money over time. They are very easy to clean, AEM says every 50,000 miles but I do it once a year. They make a…

Don't pay your dealer $60 to change your engine air filter!

At the price of an OEM filter, it's hard to get past this filter. I've used K&N air filters on a few of my cars and they've always worked well with no performance or fuel economy gains, but buying them just once saves a lot of money over the course of ownership. Dealers charge $60 or more for an air filter change that takes less than five minutes. This AEM filter is durable and well built. It fits perfectly with the air filter housing. Although I have never contaminated my MAF sensor on my…

Exceeded expectations for better fuel economy

I recently bought a used Mazda 6. The dealer I bought it from installed a new disposable aftermarket filter and in the two months since purchase my city and town average has been just a little over 31mpg. Motorway driving that is almost exactly what the car is designed for. Since getting this filter I've reset the overall average fuel economy and I'm now averaging almost 35mpg combined between city and highway. When I extrapolate that to the typical 30,000 miles I drive each year, that saves…

Quality filter but packaging was badly dented

Shown with a photo of a sticker advising it will fit a Mazda Skyactiv 2.0L but Revain says it will not fit my car. I took a chance and it's definitely a good fit. I'm not sure it does anything for performance, and even if there was the few horsepower you could get, you never really feel it. It's too early to tell if mileage has increased (or even affected), but other than that it's a solid, reusable, quality filter that should last for some time. The item arrived in the product packaging…
