📯 Marinco AFI Hidden Horn - Drop-in Design (Without Grill) Review

These horns are fine. I wish they would last longer, I replaced mine in Spring 2021, the last one was installed August 2017. I wish they made them a little better so I don't have to replace them as often.

Fast shipping and worked great but definitely not waterproof. After a month and a half it stopped working even with a waterproof cover on the hole. It would be a great product if it could last a long time.

Horn works not a direct replacement. I tied the zipper to the chrome grille. Used screws to attach the grille to the boat. Works well but not perfect. Hey, check the fuse before ordering this. My old horn turned out to be fine. I'm not even upset about easy money.

Works great - universal (there is an adapter for new boats or detachable for old ones). I was under the dash and I turned on the horn manually and I jumped up and almost hit my head it was SO LOUD. Ideal! I was wondering if it would be loud enough to hear from a long distance - no problem! Love it.

Bought to replace the original horn on a 2006 Bayliner. It was easy and worked the first time. The only negative is that the original white plastic horn cover did not "snap" on the new horn (like the original horn). So I had to add some glue to each of the three retaining tabs and now the lid is still holding.

Purchased to replace the original on my boat. Installation was as simple as removing the chrome cover, removing two screws, removing and disconnecting the horn and two electrical connectors. Installation is in reverse order. And all from outside the console. I also ordered a new chrome cover as the old one was starting to look bad. All together can be 10 minutes work. Horn works again and looks great.

Replaces the original part and fits perfectly. I'm looking for a more powerful and louder horn, but it's hard to replace it with a more durable unit in the same small space. This is good enough considering space requirements and placement in the boat. While I'm looking for more it's certainly no worse than ten years ago when the boat was new and gives me the security I need at a good price. Conforms to US Coast Guard requirements without altering the ship's original appearance.

This product is OK. Installation is "Enter" and very simple. It's not very loud, but sufficient. It is made of carbon steel, not stainless steel. All other things being equal, it offers a shorter (possibly significantly shorter) lifetime in a hostile environment. THIS IS A REPLACEMENT FOR MODEL L! I want to clear this up for everyone because I was just as confused as many others who want to replace the L model, but I'm not sure what it is. AFI went out of business and released the Model L. The company that makes it now makes the same horn but they don't use a bolt on top like the L model and they don't use a bracket.
