Doesn't work best in Accessories & Consumables

Looks good - well made - but doesn't work with my 32" Samsung Space Monitor with limited ports. I wanted to connect to my directv monitor, I've tried everything and really wanted it to work. I later bought something similar from another manufacturer that was easy to install and worked really well. I'm not happy because I spent so much time getting this converter working.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

A little gadget with magical wonders that works!

I bought an Apple TV 4 not knowing it didn't have a digital optical port. I was so disappointed that Apple was paying money for this, but I did a little research and a website suggested this. Without knowing how to wire it, my husband was able to figure out how to connect an AGPtek HDMI to HDMI, SPDIF, RCA L/R Audio Extractor Converter for Apple TV 4 with a Bose 321 system to an HDTV and it took less than 15 minutes. The thing works wonders. It's so small and doesn't take up much space. He sits

Just works and works well

I have a newer Roku Ultra with no optical S/PDIF out. I needed this feature for an old surround sound receiver that didn't have HDMI ports. I bought this device to hopefully give me this feature. It arrived on time according to the contract of sale. I just plugged everything in, flipped the switch to digital 5.1, and it worked right away. I tested it with 2ch Dolby Surround, 5.1ch Dolby Surround and DTS 5.1 Surround. He played great! All my cables are solid with solid connectors. There was no…

Finally surround sound!

This gives a day/night difference when used with my Raspberry Pi. I have an old receiver that doesn't accept HDMI input like my friends do, but unfortunately someone in the TV industry has decided that an optical TV audio cable will only output stereo when the sound isn't coming from the TV. That means if I use the TV's built-in Revain Instant Video or Netflix, I get 5.1 surround sound, but if I have an HDMI input, the optical audio cable output is stereo only. Bring AGPtek HDMI to HDMI + SPDIF

Pros
  • Newer
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Is working. Our problems solved. UPDATED 5-2-16 - Doesn't work anymore.

I bought this for my mother's TV as she has an older one without an HDMI output and an older Bose external sound system that uses RCA connectors for input. If you're using Roku with digital audio encoding, you must have such a device in order to use a non-HDMI external sound system. I plugged the Roku stick into the box's HDMI input, HDMI out to the TV, RCA cables from that box to Bose, and I set it to 2.1 first and randomly clipped the audio. I put it on 'pass' and heard no more complaints, so

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • I won't say anything

Finally! You can watch movies again at night without disturbing anyone.

Too bad I couldn't get it a year ago, I upgraded my Blu-ray player in January last year. Unfortunately, the player only supported HDMI output and only had one output for connecting to a TV. So my wireless RCA headphones didn't connect to anything, so no late-night movie watching is the joys of shared living. A friend advised me to try this converter, WONDERFUL! Not only can I listen/watch my movies, but since the sound is transmitted through the box, the TV doesn't even have to be turned on…

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • old

No longer in use and no longer working

I've been using it from time to time since I bought it in 2015. Now the sound is switched on/off via the RCA output and optically. Also, the video signal can no longer be recognized by this unit. I can no longer use it the way it was intended. I'm not very happy with it as it hasn't been used all the time. Update: 10/20/2017: I contacted AGPTek a few weeks ago and asked about their warranty (I don't have any info on the packaging but I have details). Of course I know that more than 2 years have
