Vintage: Kitchen Utensils and Gadgets

This is my mother's basic style when I was a kid. It doesn't disappoint! Sometimes it's just better. That is the case with this product. It does what it's supposed to do!

Pros
  • Good Thing
Cons
  • Functionality

Slices too big for my liking

I use this slicer for cheese, but I find it difficult to always make the smaller slices that I prefer. The rest of the product works as described.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Useless features

Very happy with kitchen utensils and gadgets

I bought this one because I had it for so many years and it finally broke. I didn't think I could buy another one like this. I was happy to have found this one and now I'm still happy with the product.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

That thing really cuts cheese.

Wow, who would have thought that a cheap cheese slicer would work a million times better than an expensive one! I had a crazy one that kept falling apart. The wire kept coming out. The thing stays in place. You can't change the width other than moving the wire closer or farther from the edge, but damn it cuts the cheese!

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • Suitable for

My Favorite

This is my favorite cheese cutter. They are strong and durable. They don't last forever, but I always get more out of them than my money's worth. Some people don't like having the bead that far from the wire, but I feel like this allows me to control the thickness of the disc. I feel they perform better than the fancy or more expensive slicers.

  • Positive Only
Cons
  • No

Yes! Buy this cutting machine!

If you don't have one, you're cutting everything wrong. I think it's an American classic. Probably not American. but they have always been in our kitchen drawer. You're most amazing when you rip out the white plastic cylinder. Freestyle cheese cutting at its finest. You can slice thinly, you can cut into blocks the size of a lunchbox snack. The opportunities are vast, and if you can't find them, your world around you will shrink. We must look for a knife. and if you use a big one, the cheese…

Pros
  • Good build
Cons
  • Doubtful

UPDATED MAY 31, 2019 Basic cheese slicer purchased on January 20, 2018 for $4.70 and manufactured by Ai-De-Chef with part number K0152 (see pic C). Cutting a block of soft cheddar and cutting the wire in two will render this slicer useless. I spent $4.70 on this product. This slicer also comes with a white plastic roller which broke and fell out of the slicer less than a month after purchase. I found (photo B) a Songlin cheese knife at Revain for $2.46 (buy this one instead folks). My mom…

Pros
  • Outstanding Overall Performance
Cons
  • Makes me angry
