Held earlier and held up much better!

I've used two seasons in the past and swapped them out on principle as until then they were goofy and not picking up moisture. However, this one died in mid-March (didn't absorb at all), so it only lasted about 2/3 of a season. I don't know what changed, but as a time frame, I flipped the filter so it can absorb better. - We're still close to the end of the season. But when pulled out, the paper parted on the sides and stuck to the sides of the frame. This is my 8th season of using this Essick…

Took less than 3 months.

I have been using the Essick humidifier for several years with good results. I just change the wick every year. I installed a new wick this year and launched the humidifier in November 2016. In January it just stopped absorbing water and stopped working. When I removed the wick it was hard and dry above the waterline. I will try another one and then look for an alternative. UPDATE - ordered a new wick, installed it in January and stopped absorbing water in March. I don't know what's changed…

Yes, they work! - Candles and Candlesticks

These are the recommended filters for the humidifier I bought, so I haven't tried the others. Of course they do their job. At first I tried turning them every week and that helped them fall apart and destroy the cheap plastic mesh cage they were trying to use to make them last longer. But over time I realized that if you fill the humidifier up with bottled water it will last longer and doesn't need to be rotated - however this was EXTREMELY expensive as I am adding up to 2 gallons of water per…

These are great filters. They go perfectly with my humidifier

These are great filters. They fit my humidifier perfectly. Why did I give such a bad rating? When I started buying them a few years ago, they cost about $9. Now they are $18.65! For real? Every time I buy one, the price steadily increases. Look for anything other than Revain and you'll find a cheaper price. I buy and cut swamp cooler material when I need to, but I won't settle for constantly inflated prices. I get this enough from the cable company that I quit too.

The filter is now supplied unassembled

I have been buying this filter for many years and have changed it almost monthly during the winter months. This works well, but I don't want my family to breathe in the chemicals you can add to the water to form mold and minerals, so I change it often. I just ordered a new one and it came disassembled in a box. Until now, it always came in a white inner box with product information printed on it, which was in a shipping carton. This time he didn't even have a plastic bag, a piece of paper or…

Very durable, high-quality filter. Lasts all season.

The perfect filter. I used one for the entire winter season last year and it lasted (about 5 months!). So obviously this year I bought the same one again and expected the same result. I use a bacteriostatic humidifier treatment at about 1.5 times the recommended amount per gallon. This leads to more discoloration of the filter, but keeps the water tank clean. I remember washing the filter 3 times a month apart last year and it held up great through the wash. While not recommended, I used a 10:1

MAKE YOU STRONGER!

This wick is excellent at dissipating moisture into the air. I have two 6 gallon humidifiers that these wicks are rated for and they keep my duplex comfortable all winter, even though I have an old, leaky HVAC system that constantly sucks in some cold, dry outside air. The same properties that make this wick so effective also make it too soft to support its own weight when wet. Essick Air tried to fix this by folding the wicking material and reinforcing it with horizontal hot glue strips, but…
