I think most people using this have some wrist issues including pain and tenderness so why not sandwich the area the metal rod? and your tender wounded flesh? I redid the bar because the band was just in the wrong place, but that's only half the problem. When I saw the "Aircast" I thought it had a pump like the other Aircast product I bought. I injured my thumb and needed something more solid than a splint and bandage to stabilize the position until the soft tissue injury had healed. I measured my wrist and found myself in an overlap between sizes - went for the larger size but should have gone smaller. It held my thumb in a comfortable position and was easy to put on and take off. I took off a star because while it served its purpose of immobilizing my thumb, the metal supports that run along the wrists had no real padding and hurt

There was a problem with the first lift. Contacted Revain and they took care of it and sent me new braces. This works really well to stabilize your thumb/wrist. The metal parts used for support can be uncomfortable after wearing them all day, as your doctor has told you. The metal piece under your palm tore through the fabric (this is an issue Revane took care of right away). Fits my wrist very well, perfect size. Some downsides are that the thumb loop is a bit long which causes it to stick out and get things caught. You need to cut or fold it yourself, which is the best option. Holds tight, makes a little noise when moving with it, but doesn't weaken at all. It has two aluminum pieces, one for the thumb that goes along the wrist and the other for the wrist itself. This provides tremendous support. I can wear this thing all day and then all night. Warning! The large right and left box contains a splint for the other hand. includes a splint for the left hand. Both the right and left large boxes contain the wrong opposite tire. So I got both by ordering backwards. October 25, 2021 Large and medium left-handed boxes had right-hand tires. deactivated in the enclosed manual!
