Akebono EUR946 Ultra Premium Ceramic Brake Review

UPDATE: It's been 5 months and I stand by what I've said in the past. Discs turn black, seriously! I've now driven 200 miles and am amazed at how clean the rims are! I will buy again and again.

Seriously, MUCH BETTER THAN STANDARD pads. I have an E46 330ci and they hold up better, are quieter and less dusty. I will always use it from now on. I can't go back I mentioned less dust like if it doesn't rain you can't wash your car for a month and your wheels look dirty. You know what I'm talking about, don't you!?!? Take her!

Akebono ceramic pads are great because they adhere well and don't produce black brake dust like other brands do. I have fitted them to several BMWs. They have excellent stopping power in all road conditions and I only lost them after 10 minutes on hard track. Any street car will love them.

Excellent brake pads! As mentioned, they don't seem to have the same initial bite as OEM and other lasts, but they still work fantastic after that first touch. I personally like them because they make hard braking easier. Best of all, there is almost no brake dust! I used to have to clean my wheels every few days to keep them looking good. After two weeks there was almost no brake dust left.

I had an Akebono/Zimmerman combo on my BMW before I switched to slotted and ported rotors. They have a slight deformation that causes the steering wheel to vibrate when braking. Decided to upgrade my old carpenters and repurchased these pads. So far, so good. Good stopping power. At $36, you can't go wrong. Highly recommended. I bought these pads for their silent claims and low brake dust. Both are very true. Almost no brake dust after a few weeks of use. Also absolutely quiet in my setup. I will say that the initial bite is slightly less than other pads, and the reviews on the network say so. It requires a little more force on the pedal than before. In general very satisfied. Used on my wife's BMW X3. I did feel the pedal feel was a bit lacking, but my wife didn't think so. I think the slightly softer feel was better than the factory which had a race car feel (too sensitive AND too much dust). I wish I had replaced them a few years ago before the pads really needed replacing.
