It could have been a 5 if the manufacturer had paid a little more attention. It has a 3/16" inlet glued into a 1/4" tube that adapts and attaches to the pump. The inlet seal is leaking! The process of changing the oil has become an endless exercise. I sealed the entrance with silicone. and ready to pump out 11 liters of well-heated oil from my diesel engine. I plan to get some 1/4" tubes, tape them in place and reduce the replacement time. makes it a 5 star used pump.

I have a 2016 Mercedes c450 which has a 7 liter capacity and this pump was able to pump about 5 liters out of the dipstick. Not that bad. I also have a 2008 Hyundai Azera, the shape of this dipstick meant the tube couldn't reach the oil pan so the pump couldn't pump the oil out. .I used it on my lawn mower and the oil came out 100%. This is not a fast pump and not for all engines. It really depends on the shape of your probe. I haven't had any leakage issues either.

When your engine's oil filter is on top, you don't have to reach under the car to do anything. Just plug the suction tube into the dipstick, turn on the power and the pump will do all the work for you in 10-15 minutes (mine is about 5.5 litres). compared to draining oil. I needed a lift pump to change the oil in a boat engine that doesn't have a drain plug. I expected to fight the hole to spill the oil, and wreak havoc wherever possible along the way. This little pump works great. It's a little slow, but for its size and price, you can't expect better. I pumped hydraulic fluid from a couple of tanks about 2 feet up. It worked perfectly. I hooked it up to a large deep cycle battery. UPDATE: 11-3-18 Still using this pump. I keep it in a 2 gallon bucket with the hoses coiled up to take this shape, but they are a bit flexible.
