I would not recommend this power supply for sensitive electronics (audio, video, radio etc.) as this power supply is quite noisy. The attached screenshots show a comparison between this 12 volt power adapter and a Dell laptop charger rated at 19.5 volts. The noise present in this power supply was interfering with the audio/video signal of the device I was testing. The included power supply is very handy, no matter what it costs.

This is supposed to be a 12VDC power supply with + in the middle. I received this to replace the lost power supply for my 1GB WD backup USB drive. I plugged it in and nothing happened. Then I smelled burning electricity. I checked everything. Should be good. Then I measured the output voltage. The 38.3 volt DC power comes from a power supply labeled 12 volt DC. Don't these people check things?

Short-lived monitor company X2Gen released a great product 10 years ago, but shipped it with a poor power supply. After all this time, my adapter finally failed. The specs on this (wired version, FYI) matched the OEM, so I thought I'd give it a try before crashing the monitor. It works!
