Compact and strong! Great for travel.

Great little value in a rugged, compact package. This is done on my bikes. One note - when I got the meter it didn't turn on. I undid two screws to check the batteries and it turned out to be just a plastic strip protecting the battery. I removed that and it worked great. The plastic strip is a very thoughtful touch to ensure the device arrives with fresh batteries, but there was nothing in the instructions or packaging to suggest you need to remove it before use.

Pros
  • Rugged design
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Compact and quick to use and install.

The product design is similar to the Radio Shack I have owned and used for 20 years. This model is no longer available. It has the best overall performance, but it costs 2 times more. This model has key features that make it ideal for a tool box or bag. It is self-locking and has cords that can be quickly accessed and tucked away. This is not an automatic area, not an automatic mode, 😞. The color is fading in the package or box, it should be a more visible color. The "lid" latch is very…

DO NOT BUY THIS. Suitable for Testers

Glued clamshell style with snap on lid. What they don't tell you or mention in the instructions is that the battery has a protective plastic cover that needs to be removed AND this device is not meant to be opened. There is no battery tab to pull to activate. I had 3 sides open and my face started to droop, not the 4th side. I did it for 20 minutes out of sheer stubbornness and gave up. I'm sending it back. Too bad I like the clamshell case and all but it doesn't work until you take the battery

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! The unit arrived dead on arrival.

I've used a few of these at Radio Shack - they're small enough to wear Velcro around my wrist and I attach the device with Velcro - meaning that when I'm in the I can "read” the network with one hand. (I attach probes to my index and ring fingers and can plug them into their sockets to see if they're alive. THIS ONE is dead. Batteries work (I checked with Fluke) but the probe leads were badly soldered ( cold soldered) and It looks like someone tried to fix it and dripped solder onto the PCB I…

  • Questionable purchase for elderly

Must be opened upon arrival or it won't work.

The compact device is good for quick measurements in your toolbox or in the car, but is not a suitable replacement for a full-size meter if you do a lot of electrical work. One thing that isn't listed in the instructions is that when this device arrives it has a piece of plastic between one of its batteries and its contact that needs to be removed for the meter to work. This is annoying as it isn't listed in the owner's manual and there is no easy access to the battery without completely…

Right price in Electric

Just the right size. I keep it in my backpack because you never know when you'll need to measure electrical potential. For the price it's of the expected quality but I don't see any problems in the construction. This is very useful for checking the voltage of the lipo battery if you don't have or don't want to carry a full size multimeter. Measuring lines and screen are protected by an integrated housing. You'll have to stuff wires and wires in there, but it's not too difficult. In addition to…

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities

Not as good but not bad enough to return

This little multimeter is a bit bigger than expected and some basic features could be improved. but this is a budget meter. It comes with 44 button cell batteries (better batteries may work) and has no battery cover. So when the cheap batteries run out, you have to pry a screwdriver out. The wires are hardwired and don't fit the lid very well, so regular use is more likely to damage the wires. There's no auto shutoff, so I'll most likely forget to turn it off. Pros Once (off) and closed (after…

Great Value in Testers

My Fluke stopped working a few weeks ago. I needed a strain gauge and didn't want to spend a lot of money on one. I threw an arrow and it hit this one. This little device comes in a protective case and is a handy smaller size. I haven't tested it for absolute accuracy as I don't need it to be perfect in its measurements. An error of 1.5% is acceptable for my purposes. The ¡°best surprise¡± was the battery already installed. (I tried twice and finally found an insulating sheet). Anyway, I didn't

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Disappear

First of all, the claim in the product description that this is the size of a business card is an exaggeration. All-Sun should drop that statement, it's not doing them any favours. However, this DMM is *tiny*. It's probably smaller than your phone, but if it is, it's probably thicker too, so it balances out. Importantly, it's small enough, *tough* enough, and *cheap* enough that you can buy it for any of your cars and just pop it in the glove box (or in the tank on a motorcycle). pocket or…
